Culinary Associate (Relief Cook)

Position Summary
The Culinary Associate is responsible for assisting the chef in preparation, cooking, and service of various food items as well as maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The optimal candidate is a good team player with excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties
Essential duties include food prep, cooking, and service of meals; Presentation of food items in a manner that exudes maximum appeal & freshness; Maintaining high sanitation standards in production area including collaborating with the housekeeping team for weekly kitchen deep cleans; Rotation and inventory of stock; The culinary associate is also responsible for maintaining an ample supply of clean service wares and must be aware of resident special dietary needs. Other duties as directed by Chef and/or Executive Director.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 yr experience as line cook or similar role
Must have basic knowledge of production and operations in all kitchen areas
Previous experience in senior services sector preferred
ServSafe certification highly preferred
Competencies
Detail oriented. Organized & efficient. Safety-minded. Good team player. Trustworthy & reliable. Able to work productively with little supervision. High quality standards for production andEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
