Client in Canton, MI looking to bring on a Quality Engineer contract-to-hire, this company is looking for someone ready to develop professionally:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for performing quality functions per the direction of the Quality Manager. Must maintain and adhere to the ISO 14001 and TS requirements. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.
The Quality Engineer will:
- Track internal scrap and defects
- Inform shift supervisor of any quality problems or safety hazards
- Follow required work instructions and procedures
- Participate in inventory as required
- Participate in teams for continuous improvement and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- Establish and maintain appropriate customer and sub-contractor relations
- Maintain records and files to support specific duties
- Responsible for tracking the key measurables relative to the quality organization in the QOS
- Provide internal customer satisfaction
- Investigate and root cause customer concerns
- Has the authority to stop production when an unsatisfactory condition is found
- Identify and record any quality problems
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through appropriate channels
- Verify the implementation of solutions
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the defect has been corrected
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities relating to product, process and/or quality system
- Other duties as assigned
Working hours: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30PM, possible Saturday hours
Qualified candidates will possess:
--At least two (2) years of experience with Quality systems and practices; associate's degree in Engineering or Quality preferred.
--At least two (2) years of automotive experience desired.
--Strong problem solving abilities
--Basic Computer knowledge
--Good oral and written communications skills
